Privacy Policy

Axis App LLC (“Axis App Tech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website axisapptech.com and the mobile application Flick Match (the “App,” and together with the website, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what the Services need to function. We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not embed analytics or tracking SDKs in the App.

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and, where available, your name from that provider (Apple shares your name only the first time you sign in). We assign you an internal user identifier. We never receive or store your Apple or Google password.

Information you provide in the App:

Your country/region (used to show streaming availability for your area).
The streaming services you tell us you subscribe to.
Your swipes (which titles you like or pass on). Your individual swipes are private and are never shown to your partner.
Matches you and a paired partner create by both liking the same title.
Shows you choose to follow, and your after-watching feedback (a thumbs up or down).
Pairing information when you link with a partner (an invite code and the connection between your two accounts).
Optional feedback you submit through our in-app survey, along with the app version, platform, and screen it was sent from.

Information collected automatically. Our backend provider records standard technical information needed to operate and secure the Services, such as your app version, platform (iOS or Android), and connection logs (including IP address and timestamps) generated during sign-in and data requests.

What we do not collect. We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your photos; we do not use device advertising identifiers; and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and secure your account and sign you in.
To save your swipes and, when you are paired with a partner, to detect matches between you.
To generate personalized recommendations based on your and (when paired) your partner's activity.
To show titles available on your selected streaming services in your region.
To respond to support requests and feedback.
To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
To comply with legal obligations.

Personalized recommendations are optional and based on your consent. You can turn personalization on or off at any time in the app (Profile → Personalized recommendations). When it is off, we do not use your swipes to build a taste profile, and you will see non-personalized lists (such as Popular, Newest, and Top Rated) instead.

3. How Your Information Is Shared

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

With your partner. When you pair with a partner, the two of you share certain information — your matches, the shows you follow, and your after-watching feedback are visible within the couple. Your individual swipes are not shared.
Service providers. We host accounts and data with Supabase, which processes data on our behalf. We retrieve movie and TV information from The Movie Database (TMDB); these requests are made through our servers and do not include information that identifies you. Sign-in with Apple and Google is handled by those providers under their own privacy policies.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Services.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete account) or by emailing us at flickmatch@axisapptech.com. For full details of what is deleted and what is retained, see our Account Deletion page.

When you delete your account, your personal data and activity are removed. Matches you created with a partner remain available to that partner as part of their shared history, no longer associated with you. Residual copies in backups are purged on a rolling basis, normally within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, or India's DPDP Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the App, or contact us at flickmatch@axisapptech.com. We do not sell personal information, so there is no sale to opt out of.

6. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), database-level access controls that scope each person's data to their own account and couple, and least-privilege access to our backend. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Age Requirement

The Services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use Flick Match, and the Services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from your own.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last Updated” date, and for significant changes we will provide notice as appropriate.
